Golden Bachelorette Joan Would Do a TV Wedding to Chock (Exclusive)

Bachelor Nation may be seeing more Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos and her fiancé Chock Chapple on their TV screens.

After getting engaged to Chapple, 60, during the Nov. 13 finale The Golden BacheloretteVassos, 61, tells PEOPLE she would consider saying “yes” to the insurance executive on television.

“I originally said I wanted it small with just our friends and family, but now that I think about it a little more, I’m kind of thinking we might do a televised wedding,” Vassos said in a joint interview with Chappel. “I feel like everyone who has been through this whole journey with us has been with us over the last few months to see all of this happen. It would be fun for them to see Chapter 2 of us actually starting a life together. They deserve to see the next part of this.

But for now, the newly engaged couple just wants to enjoy the opportunity to make their relationship public.

“We didn’t think much about the wedding,” says Vassos. “We’re really looking forward to just being a couple in the world and just being normal people going through life for at least a few months, and then we start thinking about a wedding.”

Vassos admitted on the November 14 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that she and Chapple really didn’t know each other that well after they got engaged. But she explains to PEOPLE that they “had a connection very early on,” which gave her the confidence to say “yes” when Chapple got down on one knee in Bora Bora.

“That initial trust and how easy we were together really became apparent during the Disneyland date,” Vassos says of her first one-on-one date with Chapple. “After that it built up very quickly and we got to know each other quite well, the important things. Once we got engaged it was time to sort out the other stuff, but we already had the important stuff taken care of.

Chapple’s confidence in his relationship with Vassos never wavered. “By the time we arrived in Bora Bora, I knew I loved her and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her,” he says.

The pair say they have not had any disagreements since leaving Bora Bora. “He is a very easy person to live with,” says Vassos. “He’s very easy-going, so honestly I give him all the credit.”

The father of two says: “I’m very trainable!”

Chapple and Vassos have been alone in enjoying everything they’ve gotten to know about each other since filming wrapped. “I knew she was compassionate, smart and intelligent. I didn’t know how intelligent she really was until we spent all that time together, and I was deeply impressed,” says Chapple. “Joan said this about me: one of my characteristics is that I’m a fixer. She’s also a fixer, and we deal with life in a beautiful way.

Vassos likes that her fiancé gives her a “sense of security.”

“I know that if there is something that challenges my life, he will step in and try to help me,” says the mother of four. “That’s actually what you miss when you lose your partner, that you do everything alone. Now I feel like I really have a partner.”
