Jordan Fisher Says Working on Hallmark Film ‘Dream Screenplay’ Was (Exclusive)

Jordan Fisher is singing his praises for Hallmark.

The To all the boys: PS I still love you star talked about his experience making his first Hallmark movie, The 5th anniversary partyand gets to share it with his family in an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE.

“Everyone is nice and happy to be there,” Fisher, 30, said at Bloomingdale’s “Wicked Good Window Unveiling” in New York City on Nov. 13. “There are dogs running around and children running around. That was very much the case here.”

“I had to take my family,” he also recalled. “And I literally got to block a scene where I was holding my son [Riley William Fisher]and let him run off and play with mom while I was at work.

The actor and musician and his wife Ellie Woods welcomed Riley in 2022. Since then, Fisher has said that welcoming their child into the family has changed his “purpose” when it comes to his career and life, and he is now trying to include his family involve. wherever and whenever he can.

And while he notes that the Hallmark movie was “fast,” he said that “none of the days” working on the film “were stressful.”

“You know I heard it [tales] from a handful of friends, colleagues who have worked on these Hallmark movies, and they’re like, ‘Dude, you’re going to love it.’ It’s so relaxed,” Fisher said.

“I got to be a part of that this year and I loved it,” he added. “I loved every bit of it. I would do it again, again and again.”

The 5 year Christmas partyalso starring Katie Findlay, follows two theater school rivals who reunite each holiday season to work a catering company’s Christmas parties in Chicago, according to a synopsis for the film.

Sparks eventually fly between the two, and the company’s final season forces them to confront their true feelings.

Fisher also stars as Orpheus on Broadway Hadestowna role he will leave in January. He told PEOPLE that he will take a short break after the run to spend some free time with his family.

“We’re going to visit some friends,” he said of his plans with his family. “I think: go skiing a bit and rest for a while. And then [get] get back to work on it right away.”

The 5th anniversary party airs November 17 on Hallmark Channel.
